Park City has a rare combination for a destination ski town: a huge mountain, a real downtown and unusually easy airport access. That makes it especially well suited to a two or three night private aviation trip.
A ski town less than an hour from a major airport
Park City Mountain says the resort is about 35 to 38 miles from Salt Lake City International Airport, with a typical drive of roughly 35 to 45 minutes depending on traffic and weather.
Private travelers can arrive through the private aviation facilities in the Salt Lake City area, move quickly from the aircraft to ground transportation and schedule the flight around the ski day rather than around an airline timetable.
For a group from Houston, Austin or Dallas, that can make it realistic to leave in the morning and still use a meaningful part of the arrival day in Park City.
What SKI Magazine says about Park City
SKI Magazine's 2026 Resort Guide called Park City a well rounded vacation destination with enormous terrain variety and one of the strongest ski towns in the country. Its readers ranked Park City No. 5 in the West specifically for easy access.
Park City Mountain offers more than 7,300 acres of terrain, with skiing and snowboarding for beginners through experts, plus the restaurants, nightlife and shops of historic Main Street.

A Park City winter trip can also include snow tubing at Woodward, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, Utah Olympic Park, a bobsled experience, live events, shopping and dining downtown.
