Pebble Beach is one of the clearest examples of why golfers fly private. The goal is not simply to arrive in California. It is to get as close to the first tee as possible and keep more of the trip for golf, Carmel and the Monterey Peninsula.

Fly closer to Pebble Beach

Monterey Regional Airport is approximately 15 minutes from Pebble Beach Golf Links. Pebble Beach Resorts says San Jose is generally about one to one and a half hours away by car and San Francisco is roughly two to two and a half hours away.

Private aviation can make Monterey the destination instead of requiring a long final ground transfer from a major airline airport. For travelers from Houston, Austin or Dallas, that can preserve hours on both the arrival and departure days.

What Golf Digest says about Pebble Beach

Golf Digest ranks Pebble Beach No. 1 among America's 100 Greatest Public Courses and No. 9 among all U.S. courses for 2025-26. The magazine calls the property one of the greatest meetings of land and sea in American golf and gives it a 4.8 out of 5 panel rating.

Its championship history and ocean holes are why golfers travel across the country specifically to play it.

More time at the destination

Flying private can mean an afternoon round, dinner in Carmel, another course on the peninsula or simply a final morning that does not have to be sacrificed to a long drive back to a commercial airport.

Republic Aviation compares aircraft and properly certificated operators based on range, passengers, golf clubs, baggage, schedule and airport requirements so the flight works around the trip.
