Pinehurst is built for a golf trip, and private aviation can put travelers dramatically closer to the resort than a standard airline itinerary.

Ten minutes from the resort instead of more than an hour

Pinehurst says Raleigh Durham International is about 75 minutes away. Moore County Airport, used by private aircraft, is about 10 minutes from the resort.

That difference matters on both ends of a two or three day trip. It can preserve an afternoon round on arrival and keep the final morning available instead of starting the airport drive early.

What Golf Digest says about Pinehurst No. 2

Golf Digest ranks Pinehurst No. 2 No. 6 among America's 100 Greatest Public Courses and No. 32 among all U.S. courses for 2025-26. The magazine notes that the Donald Ross design is unusual because resort golfers can enjoy it while the same course can be prepared to challenge the best players in the world.

No. 2 hosted the 2024 U.S. Open and is scheduled to host future U.S. Opens in 2029, 2035, 2041 and 2047.

Republic Aviation compares aircraft, properly certificated operators, passenger count, golf clubs, baggage and airport requirements to build the charter around the trip. For Pinehurst, landing close is one of the simplest ways to turn travel time back into golf time.
